What is your current position in the Volvo Group?
I am currently group manager for the Electrical components and Vehicle electronics group in Bangalore

Why did you choose Volvo Group as an employer?
I was working with construction equipment at the start of my career and was looking to move to commercial vehicles. It was a very good opportunity at Volvo Group at the systems engineering at Electrical and Electronics.

How has your career been this far?
I have been with Volvo for close to 7 years now and I have had the opportunity to work with some diverse areas and projects even within electrical and electronic engineering. I have had the chance to learn, imbibe and take the role of group manager.

Do you get any professional or personal coaching from the Volvo Group?
In the environment that is here, it is always possible to approach anyone across the globe for help. That said, when I started with my new role, we went through the needs that may arise and I also have the support from a mentor. So there is a lot of support available around, for us to grab and take.

Have you been involved in any global projects in the Volvo Group?
Yes, my first 6 years of the career has been in Systems engineering at electrical and electronic engineering. In this role I have been involved in global projects interacting with system engineers across sites. In the last couple of years we have really had a close co-operation in Asia between the various sites towards the development of UD Trucks new truck Quester. It is an amazing experience to interact with people from so many different backgrounds and cultures.

If you were to recommend Volvo Group as an employer to a friend, what would you put forward?
Volvo is a very interesting workplace in terms of the varied products, projects and people. There is something for every kind of competence and makes for an interesting professional journey.

How would you describe your, so far, best experience from being an employee of the Volvo Group?
The best so far has been to see the new truck Quester launched. It has been very fulfilling to see something that you have been involved from early stages and see it as a product realised knowing that you had a small part to play in it.

What do you do when off work?
I have a daughter, who is almost 2 now. When I am not at work, I spend time with her. I love dancing and I am trained, I try to keep at it now when I have time.

What are your goals, plans and hopes for the future?
I am in this role since this year and there is so much to learn. It would be interesting to work in a role that gives you a strategic view and capacity. That would be something to look forward to in the future.
