1. In which program did you participate?
2007
2. Why were you interested in participating in a Volvo Group Graduate Program?
I knew that I wanted to participate in a trainee program while I saw the opportunity to get a chance to see and know a large and global company and create a network within it. Something that I think will be an advantage for me in my future career. Volvo Group had the program that attracted me the most while you during your trainee activities work part time at your future position.
3. Tell us something about your experience in the program -- what did you like about it?
During this year we have had the opportunity to do things many other coworkers do not get the chance to do during their time at Volvo Group.
- Educations in really interesting areas (diversity, presentation technology, how to handle with stress etc.)
- Visit all business areas and business units within Volvo Group but also meeting with external customers.
- Both national and international training within Volvo Group.
Anything you didn't like?
Not so far. I have found 26 new friends within the group that will give me a network allover the company. We have also had activities with trainees before us to exchange experiences. I will now soon leave Sweden for 3 months of abroad training in USA and Brazil. One thing I don't like is that my year as a trainee too soon is over but on the other hand then I can concentrate 100% to work within the area of Soft Products.
4. How would you describe the culture of Volvo Group? ( i.e. what do you think is distinctive about how we do things in Volvo Group ?)
While I don't have that work experience I can't compare the culture at Volvo Group with others that would be preferably. What impressed me at Volvo Group was that no matter where people work in the organization everyone feels a responsibility for the product and they are enormously proud of the brand. You can't find one employed within Volvo Trucks (where I am located) that would prefer to work for some other truck brand than Volvo.
Further, the corporate values (safety, quality and environmental care) are well spread trough the organization. And regarding how to behave "The Volvo way" is a good guide that is well practiced within the company.
5. Based on your own experience, why do you think someone should consider working for a Volvo Group company?
I chose the Volvo Group while it is a global company with many opportunities. Everyone can find their place of interest.
