1. In which program did you participate?
I participated in the Young Professionals Program, now known as the VCE International Graduate Program.
2. Why were you interested in participating in a Volvo Group Graduate Program?
I was interested in pursuing a career with an international company with opportunities to grow personally as well as professionally.
3. Tell us something about your experience in the program -- what did you like about it? Anything you didn't like?
I feel very fortunate to be part of this program. The international experiences have given me a very good view of how Volvo functions here and abroad. The fact that I have been able to move through different departments within Volvo CE has given me a very good idea of what I would like to pursue when my program comes to a close. Also, the extensive networking I have been able to do within Volvo has helped me develop relationships to give me a better idea of possible opportunities for the future. Some may think that it is a bit difficult at times to network and pursue your own path during the program, but I felt that it really helped me to develop relationships with co-workers in order to help develop skills necessary to fit into a rewarding job after the program.
4. How would you describe the culture of Volvo Group?( i.e.what do you think is distinctive about how we do things in Volvo Group ?)
One thing I realized about Volvo when I began the graduate program was that everyone seems to be cut from the same mold. All are passionate about what they do, and in turn, it makes me more interested about what I am doing. Also, from what I have seen, all employees have an open door policy. When I need some help about a matter, I can ask for help from most anyone, and they will take the time to guide me in the right direction. It is greatly appreciated that everyone is so helpful regardless of how busy they are.
5. Based on your own experience, why do you think someone should consider working for a Volvo Group company?
The Volvo Group exhibits the characteristics of a wonderful company to work for. There are always opportunities to grow within the company and most that begins working for Volvo stay for a long time. For those who are interested in pursuing a career with an international company, Volvo has opportunities in virtually every region of the world, and pushes cultural awareness throughout each location.
