Guillaume Ringot

What is your internship assignment?
I am a part of the integration and verification service for EEEL (Electrical and Electronics Engineering Lyon), in the PFE Team (PlatForm Electronic). I am currently working on the development of a new tests bench for alternators. The bench also deals with battery management, which actually includes tests on battery sensor, state of charge of the battery, charge/discharge cycles and other tests.

What does a day at work look like?
The lab where I am working for includes about 15 people, in an open-space office. Most of the time, I start my day by answering e-mails from suppliers, and organizing my work. Then I can do various things related to my project : drafting requirements (for the Power part of the bench), working on electrical plans, developing models for parts of the bench using CAD software, meeting mechanical engineers from other services to help me, or also participating in the team tests activities.

Where and in what part of the organization are you doing your internship?
My path is Group Trucks Technology vehicle engineering/EEEL/integration and verification service/PFE lab team.

Why did you choose to do your internship with the Volvo Group?
I was interested to work to with Volvo Group. I wanted to know more about the truck environment. Moreover, being involved in the Volvo Group is a great opportunity to fit in international teams, since our activities are linked with Goteborg’s.

If you were to recommend Volvo Group as an employer, what would you put forward?
I was very surprised by the team efficiency to integrate new employees or colleagues, trainees or consultants. There is a real corporate culture.

Could you please describe your best experience from being an intern with the Volvo Group?
Working with competent people, but in a relaxed atmosphere every day is the best experience I have. Whatever the question, you can always find someone who knows the answer.
