What is your current position at Volvo?
As General Counsel for Volvo Group Trucks Operations, I am globally responsible for the handling of legal issues within manufacturing of Trucks cab & vehicles, engines & transmissions and logistics operations for the whole Volvo Group. Volvo Group Trucks Operations has 50 plants and 81 distribution centers world-wide and much of my work consists of gathering and requesting information, leading and coordinating the work necessary to secure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and to mitigate risks in business relations. I work with an excellent team of legal counsels at the Volvo Group legal departments around the world.
Why did you choose Volvo Group as an employer?
The core values of the Volvo Group – quality, safety and environmental care – are appealing to me, as is the professionalism within the organization. The Volvo Group is constantly striving to have a global team of high performing people.
How has career with the Volvo Group been this far?
I have had very interesting opportunities since I joined Volvo Aero. That was 2005, when I worked in Trollhättan, Sweden. 2010 I had the opportunity to move to Shanghai one year to work for a specific Asian truck project and after that I was assigned General Counsel within the old purchasing organization. In the New Volvo Organization, effective from January 2012, I hold the position as General Counsel for Volvo Group Trucks Operations. I work in a great team and I enjoy being part of the development of the Volvo Group industrial footprint in this constantly changing world.
If you were to recommend Volvo Group as an employer, what would you put forward?
Beside the core values, I want to emphasize the advantages of working for a large, international group. This gives opportunities for personal and professional development that smaller companies hardly can match.
Could you please describe your best experience from being an employee of the Volvo Group?
That is definitely the opportunity I had to live and work in China for one year. That meant a lot for my development. I became a more curious person during that period and started to take more interest in our cultural surroundings. It enhanced my business understanding.
