As one of approximately 110,000 employees all over the world, you will be treated with respect. Together we strive to create an inclusive culture where everyone can contribute to their full potential and be accepted for who they are, regardless of gender, gender identity, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, age, sexual orientation, or disabilities, etc.
Our work to promote an ever more inclusive workplace and to increase diversity is closely linked to the Volvo Way and the Volvo Group Code of Conduct. It is part of our foundation: Who we are and what we stand for.
Our transparent recruitment process, which ensures a wide panel of candidates are aware of new job opportunities, is one way to promote diversity. All open positions are posted online and may be applied for by all present employees, as well as by potential employees, when we are recruiting externally.
We also offer Diversity and Inclusive Leadership training for managers and have built several employee diversity networks that you can benefit from.
The diversity networks are employee resource groups addressing different diversity dimensions. We currently have networks for female employees, employees who are gay, lesbian, bi- or transgender (Volvo EAGLE) and cross-cultural networks. And the door is open for additional networks.
In addition, we have two executive networks: Volvo GLOW – a global network for female top executives, addressing leadership and intercultural management – and the Walk the Talk Network – a network of male top executives promoting gender equality.
Diversity and success are linked
We know that diversity and inclusion are crucial for our business success since they increase innovation and employee engagement, help us cooperate between our sites across the globe and better connect to our diverse customer base.
Diversity and inclusion targets are part of our strategic objectives, and we have been working systematically for over a decade to increase both. As a result of our efforts we see a growing number of diverse nationalities and improved gender balance among our top-300 positions as well as among our employee base.
With all this said and done, being part of a diverse and inclusive team is also simply more fun and stimulating.
