Jens Holtinger becomes plant manager of Volvo Europa Truck

As from March 1st, Jens Holtinger becomes the new plant manager of Volvo Europa Truck, the Ghent truck factory of Volvo.

Jens Holtinger obtained a Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Chalmers University in Göteborg and a degree in Business Management. He started his career in 1995 in the Swedish truck factory as a production engineer.
Jens Holtinger built out experience in the production facilities of Göteborg (Sweden), Wacol (Australia) and as projectleader of the factory in Kaluga (Russia). 
The new plant manager is familiar with the Lean Manufacturing concept and will proceed with the continuous improvement process in the Ghent factory.

“I’m very proud to join the truck factory in Belgium”, says Jens Holtinger, “Over the last years Volvo Europa Truck has known a steady growth, with a record number of produced trucks in 2007 of 43.504. In addition Volvo Trucks invested in new activities such as the Volvo Fitting Center and Volvo Cab Trim and also in the improvement of the efficiency of the production process according to the lean manufacturing concept.  I hope to put my experience and know-how in the service of the plant to bridge over this period of downturn and together with the management team and the employees of the Ghent factory prepare for the upturn that will come.”

Jens Holtinger was born in 1970, is married and has a son of 7 and a daughter of 4. He is a passionate sailor and sportsman.
