1. How did you come to join the Volvo Group?
To be quite frank, working at Volvo wasn't really something I had in mind until I discovered the Tech Watch & Business Innovation department by searching my on-line professional network for "business + innovation". It turned out that the director of the department is a friend of a friend…. I asked my friend to introduce me and guess what… he was looking for someone with a profile like mine.

2. Tell us about your current role and its main responsibilities.
My role as a prototype leader is, in broad terms, about balancing human needs, business value and "new" IT opportunities by building "soft" prototypes. Many "big" words in one sentence… To be able to do this, it is absolutely crucial to collaborate with colleagues all over the Volvo Group and selected partners. It means that every day is a winding road, meeting people and their daily/strategic challenges, trying to understand their needs, maybe even desires, and combine it with new IT opportunities.

Right now I'm striving to make a business process, more interesting and even FUN. It seems like parts of the answer can be found in computer games and in, the multi-dimensional, social web. I think it´s great that Volvo is exploring how to apply these phenomenon's to attract new and maybe different kinds of talent…

3. What would you like to do in the future in the Group?
My dream is to continue to be a driving force - to earn the mandate to explore challenges both within Volvo Group and in the end improve quality of life in close collaboration with the only "platform" that we can't replace - planet earth. For me the formal role and assignment is less important but from what I've experienced so far, in less than a year, I think that Volvo Group offers a very stimulating work environment.

4. How would you describe the culture of Volvo Group? (I.e. what do you think is distinctive about how we do things in Volvo Group?)
Growing up, and living, close to Goteborg and Volvo have over the years built expectations on how it would be on the "inside". Nowadays, being on the inside I must say that what is called the Volvo Way, which shows what Volvo stand for and want to achieve, really comes to life in every interaction regardless of hierarchy, position and geography. What I personally really appreciate is the concrete respect for me/you as an individual.

5. Why do you think someone should consider working for a Volvo Group company?
Some words to anyone who wants to make a difference, quite straight forward. Consider to join us on a journey to continously enhance how people commute, travel and transport goods. I would love to have ever more creative, "out of the box" people in the group to drive progress, for example: on roads (buses and trucks), on water (powered by Penta), or in the air (powered by Volvo Aero); and in the future even beyond…
