Peter, Volvo CE

1.  In which program did you participate?
Volvo Construction Equipment - International Graduate Program (//Young Professional program) in 2005.

2.  Why were you interested in participating in a Volvo Group Graduate Program?
I wanted a good start for my career and the concept of Volvo's graduate program matched very well with how I wanted to set off. I found the opportunity to learn and work with different areas in a large organization very appealing as well as having the chance to build up my own personal network. But the bottom line was of course my personal interest towards our products and services, and that made the choice quite easy!

3.  Tell us something about your experience in the program -- what did you like about it?  Anything you didn't like?
I entered the program with a vision and ambition of what areas I wanted to learn and experience. With the strong support from my manager and frequent dialogs, I believe we together accomplished that vision. The result was a tailor-made program with a clear connecting thought through-out the program. I touched upon all the vital functions for our after-market business - technical support, logistics and marketing and sales and in the combination of the different levels in our organization: global-, regional- and dealer-level. The journey was fanatic and has really equipped me for my current job and future career.

4. How would you describe the culture of Volvo Group?( i.e. what do you think is distinctive about how we do things in Volvo Group ?)
I think that the culture of Volvo originate from our common core values. Before I started at Volvo I didn't understand the highly importance and essence of this - but today I do. Different decisions are made every day among all of us - by having the same values we do not only come closer in our decisions, I believe that we connect with each and other in a higher personal level as a team.

5. Based on your own experience, why do you think someone should consider working for a Volvo Group company?
For anyone who is interested of working for a truly global company with Customers and Colleagues all over the world, Volvo is no doubt one of them. Everyday, I work with people around the world and have the opportunity to see and learn so many things I think I never would have the chance to do otherwise. Nevertheless, if I ever would like to change to something new, I don't have to look far to find it and still be able to bring with me the experience and knowledge I have gathered from the program.
