As a long-standing supporter of sustainable mobility and bold ideas for transport, it is only natural that the Volvo Group should support Our Future Mobility Now, the innovative project aimed at getting young people involved in the future of transport and mobility.

Over a period of two weeks, more than 90 journalists from many parts of the world are visiting Volvo Trucks in Göteborg to test drive three of the company’s most environmentally optimised vehicles: the Volvo FM MethaneDiesel, Volvo FE Hybrid and Volvo FH DME.

Volvo Trucks introduces a new cab variant for the Volvo FE with an extra-low entry. The new cab, the Volvo FE LEC (Low Entry Cab) is designed for refuse trucks, distribution trucks and other vehicles used in operations that require the driver to climb in and out of the cab several times a day. With the kneeling function activated, the cab’s only step is just 440 mm above the road surface.

More than 20 percent of all accidents involving trucks take place in traffic queues or similar situations. That is why Volvo Trucks has developed a system called Automated Queue Assistance, AQuA, which helps the driver in slow-moving queues by taking control of the vehicle. The system is being demonstrated on June 21-22 during the HAVEit Final Event in Göteborg, Sweden.

The eleventh Volvo Ocean Race will start in October. The race provided the inspiration for Volvo Trucks' "Volvo Ocean Race Limited Edition" – a limited edition of specially designed Volvo FH and Volvo FH16 trucks.

Volvo Buses has received its largest hybrid bus order to date. The city of Curitiba in Brazil has ordered 60 buses that generate up to 35% less fuel consumption.

VECV, India, has bagged a prestigious order for 400 units of Eicher heavy duty bus chassis from Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC). This order will be supplied over next 6 months.

Volvo Trucks is enhancing its focus on alternative fuels with the launch of the new Volvo FM MethaneDiesel. This truck is powered by up to 75 percent gas. Thanks to its fuel-efficient technology – which extends the vehicle’s operating range – it can considerably reduce CO2 emissions from heavy and long-distance transport operations.
