Arne Wittlöv appointed Executive Vice President of AB Volvo

Per-Erik Mohlin will resign as Executive Vice President and member of the Group Executive Committee of AB Volvo to take up a position outside the Volvo Group. He will leave his position on October 1, 1997.

Volvo Trucks has boosted its deliveries pace since the start of this year. Up to end July, deliveries totaled 37,114 trucks, which is a return to the same level recorded for this period last year. To end of June this year, deliveries amounted to 5 per cent below the corresponding period in 1996.

Effective June 30, 1997, Sten Langenius is resigning his position as Executive Vice President of AB Volvo and a member of the Volvo Group Executive Committee, where he has served since January 1, 1990.

Volvo assumes full control of the common stock of its North American truck operations and at the same time Volvo GM Heavy Truck Corporation is changing its name to Volvo Trucks North America, Inc.
