The newly purpose built corporate offices of Volvo in Belgium will be completed by the end of September 2000. The impressive new premises, which have been built in St-Agatha-Berchem in the North West of Brussels will act as the centre of Volvo's commercial operations in the capital.

The European Commission has now completed its review of Volvo's proposed aquisition of Renault VI/Mack, and has given the transaction its approval, subject to a number of concessions.

Volvo Trucks is launching a new truck model, the Volvo VHD, on the North American market. The new truck has been developed primarily for construction duties. The Volvo VHD was developed over a period of two years at a cost of about 900 million Swedish kronor.

AB Volvo Penta and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd (MHI) have now signed a global agreement on distribution of diesel engines with cylinder volume between 24 and 65 litres. The engines will be branded Volvo Penta and marketed and serviced by Volvo Penta's global distribution networks.

Volvo Construction Equipment is investing 5 M USD to purchase a minority holding in IronPlanet Inc., a leading US based e-auction company for used construction equipment.

Volvo and Mitsubishi have now signed a contract specifying the conditions for Volvo's acquisition of 19.9 percent of the shares of the Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Company.
