Jay Roszell, currently President of Volvo CE North America, has decided to resign from his position to pursue a long-term ambition of moving to the distribution side of the business. He will assume responsibility for the Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee branches of LB Smith.

Deliveries from Volvo's truck operations, which include Volvo Trucks, Mack Trucks, Inc. and Renault Trucks, declined 10% in April, compared with the corresponding month last year. On a year-to-date basis, deliveries amounted to 48,740 trucks, an increase of 3% compared with the year-earlier period. In Europe, deliveries increased 7%, while North America posted a 14% decline compared with the first four months in 2002.

The 48 Convertible is the latest top model from the American boat builder Silverton Marine. The new model is a flying-bridge boat slightly longer than 15 meters for exclusive cruising with high onboard comfort. As standard, Silverton selected twin Volvo Penta D12 engines, each with 715 hp.

Peter Karlsten, president of Volvo Trucks in Brazil, will be the new president of Volvo Trucks North America. Karlsten will assume his new position on October 1 this year.

The corporate management of Volvo Aero has today decided to submit preliminary notice of redundancy measures affecting 250 employees in Trollhättan, 150 blue-collar and 100 white-collar.

Volvo Trucks now introduces the Volvo FM12 with the 460 hp D12D engine in conjunction with the Intermat exhibition in Paris, France. With this more powerful engine, the FM12 is able to handle even tougher assignments and can thus further broaden its application area. In parallel with the more powerful engine, the two top FM variants are now also being made available with a new version of Powertronic and a clutch-independent power take-off.

Volvo Penta will launch several new industrial products at this year's Intermat exhibition in Paris: TAD722VE, a new engine for off-road and stationary applications, a new-generation electronic diesel control EDC 4 and the diagnosis and service tool VODIA.
