AB Volvo has exercised its option to purchase an additional 6% of the shares in Nissan Diesel from Nissan Motor for approximately SEK 500 M, corresponding to JPY 439 per share. Volvo now owns a total of 19% of the shares in the Japanese truck manufacturer.

The Volvo Group is today inaugurating the new Volvo 3P Global Development Centre in Göteborg, Sweden.

Volvo Aero Services has entered into a five-year agreement with Emirates Airlines in United Arab Emirates, one of the leading airlines in the world, whereby Volvo Aero Services will become the exclusive distributor of surplus spare parts for Emirates.

Total deliveries of trucks from the Volvo Group’s three truck companies increased 3% through August this year, compared with the year-earlier period. Deliveries from Mack rose 5%, while deliveries from Renault Trucks were up 10%.

Luleå University of Technology (LTU) has decided to award a honorary doctorate to Panos Plegas, Volvo Aero. The doctorate will be conferred during LTU’s academic celebrations in November.
