The Volvo Group has the world’s most modern range of heavy diesel engines. The new heavy diesel engine family will comply with all known emissions standards that successively will become effective through to 2014. The development effort was carried out within the Group and the result is being recognized with the Volvo Technology Award 2007.

Volvo Buses has received an order for 113 low-emission city buses from Volvo’s international customer Veolia, with presence in different area’s in the Netherlands.

PUMA, the global sportswear brand, has announced today that it will enter a boat in the 2008-09 Volvo Ocean Race. Three boats are now officially involved and further sponsorship announcements will be made.

As announced earlier, Volvo is to postpone publication of its interim report for the first quarter of 2007 from April 25 to May 11.

When the acceptance period for Volvo’s offer for Nissan Diesel expired yesterday, Volvo had received a total of roughly 96 % of the shares outstanding. Since Volvo has received more than two thirds of the shares in Nissan Diesel, a process is now being initiated to redeem the remaining shares outstanding. Because Nissan Diesel will not be releasing its year-end report for 2006 until May 11, Volvo has decided to postpone its first quarter interim report until the same date, May 11, 2007.

Volvo Aero and the Swedish Government are each investing SEK 63 M when the government authority Vinnova distributes money for the first time to a commercial demonstrator program in the aerospace industry.

On Wednesday, March 21, Maud Olofsson, Swedish Enterprise and Energy Minister, inaugurated the new multi-task cell at Volvo Aero in Trollhättan, Sweden. The cell, one of the world’s most advanced, is part of a major investment in production at Volvo Aero totally about SEK 1.5 billion.

Volvo Trucks is today inaugurating both a new head office and a new dealer facility, the Volvo Truck Center with its integrated training centre, in Hwaseong Dongtan, Korea. With these new facilities, the company aims to strengthen its presence on the Korean market.

Total deliveries of trucks from the Volvo Group’s three truck companies decreased 13% through February this year, compared with the year-earlier period. Deliveries from Mack were down 47%, while deliveries from Renault Trucks were down 17%. Deliveries from Volvo Trucks increased 5% compared with the year-earlier period.

At an event held today at the Bibliothéque Solvay in Brussels, Belgium, the Volvo Group presented its internally developed and unique hybrid solution for heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses. The event is part of the Volvo Group’s efforts to make commercially viable hybrid technology for heavy vehicles available on the market.
