Volvo Trucks has today launched its new Volvo FMX construction truck at the Bauma international machinery fair in Munich. With this new truck, Volvo Trucks aims to secure a strong increase in its market share of the construction segment.

A team of five engineers from different Volvo Group companies is to receive the 2010 Volvo Technology Award for its work in developing Volvo Penta’s Dynamic Positioning System – a system that maintains the boat in its current position. The award will be presented by Volvo Group CEO Leif Johansson at the Volvo Group AGM on April 14.

The Annual General Meeting of AB Volvo held on April 14, 2010 approved the proposal from the Board of Directors and the President not to pay a dividend to the shareholders and that all of the funds at the disposal of the Annual General Meeting would be carried forward to the following year.

Johan Carlsson, currently Head of Fortos, a unit within Volvo IT, has been appointed the new President of Volvo Technology Transfer (VTT). Johan Carlsson will assume the position on June 1, 2010, when his predecessor Anders Brännström retires.

Today, AB Volvo published its Sustainability Report for 2009. This year’s report is entirely web based.

Total deliveries from the Volvo Group’s truck operations in February amounted to 11,955 vehicles. This was an increase of 11% compared with the year-earlier period. Compared with January this year, the increase was 27%.

Today, on March 3, the Håkan Frisinger Foundation for Transportation Research will present its award for 2009 to Magnus Skoglundh of Chalmers University of Technology. The award of SEK 250,000 has been granted to Magnus Skoglundh for his outstanding research in the field of emission catalysis.
