Long and short journeys

Every day, billions of people have to get to and from work. Volvo Buses is collaborating closely with the authorities and bus companies all over the world to create specially designed systems with separate bus lanes in countries including Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Peru, China, Mexico and Angola.

At the present time, hybrid buses are also being tested in the city traffic in Gothenburg and London and, at the end of last year, the first hybrid bus was sold to a city bus company in Luxembourg.

Volvo Buses also builds long-distance coaches that transport people between cities and countries. In India, Volvo’s buses have become synonymous with luxury and comfort.

In all probability, people who prefer to fly will find that the aircraft they are travelling in features components from Volvo Aero. In 2009, Volvo Aero supplied components to 90 per cent of all the newly produced large commercial aircraft.
