The hydraulic suspension introduced in Volvo's articulated haulers in 2008 represented a major technological advancement.
Under favourable conditions not only did it increase the efficiency of the machines by as much as 40%. It also exposed operators to significantly reduced vibrations.
The development work was conducted within Volvo Construction Equipment and the result was awarded the 2008 Volvo Technology Award.
The hydraulic suspension applies to all six wheels, with the added feature of double cylinders on all four rear wheels. The hydraulic arrangement has advanced electronic control that enables the machine to perform consistently, regardless of whether it's empty or full, or driven slowly or at maximum speed.
Suited also to other machines
Machines with hydraulic suspension easily meet requirements concerning worksite vibrations that
