The chemical regulation in the European Union (EU), REACH ((Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006) has a major impact on chemical and associated industries worldwide, which manufacture and/or import chemicals, mixtures and articles to the EU. The regulation shall improve the protection of human health and the environment and will improve the knowledge about chemicals in the society.
The Volvo Group companies are affected mainly as downstream users of chemicals, but also as importers of chemicals in components and suppliers of articles. The REACH regulation has an impact on supply of materials and components as well as communication up- and downstream.
The Volvo Group is aware of the obligations within the different roles and is working actively to fulfil them. The Volvo Group has a common approach but each Volvo Group Company is responsible for compliance with the REACH regulation.
