Since 1999 Volvo Car Corporation is owned by the Ford Motor Company and is no longer a part of Volvo Group. But Volvo Group and Volvo Cars still share the same brand name. Therefore, a new company, Volvo Trademark Holding AB, was established 1999 to deal with brand matters for the two companies.
