Meet Antoine Fiore, Senior Technology Specialist in the field of Durability Analysis at Volvo 3P, Cab Engineering Department in Lyon, France.
How did you come to join Volvo 3P?
“Actually, I've been working for 20 years in the areas of Product Development and Cab Engineering; in the beginning at Renault Trucks and since 2001 at Volvo 3P.”
“At the beginning of my career I was responsible for the development of different cab components such as the door in white, doorstop, hinges and later on the dashboard.”
“In 1997 I joined the cab analysis team as a durability analyst where I also had the position of team leader. It's very exciting and satisfying to see things that you have created on the roads as well as knowing that you have contributed to customer satisfaction.“
Tell us about your current role and its main responsibilities.
“I am currently a Senior Technology Specialist working with cab durability analysis. I’m the Volvo Group technology expert in the area of material and structural fatigue pertaining to all truck cabs and the equipment in them.”
“My mission is to train and develop durability analysts and to be on the cutting edge of durability analysis methods and software, including material data development for steel as well as plastics.”
“I also drive joint activities with other departments in order to improve collaboration with respect to methods, processes and data sharing.”
How would you describe the culture at Volvo 3P?
“I think that the culture at Volvo 3P is primarily focused on customer expectations. Every time we design a function or a piece of equipment, we think about features that can be brought to the customers in terms of quality and efficiency. This is particularly true of Cab Engineering, which has an obviously privileged relationship with the end-user.”
“I would also like to point out a constant concern for respect for the individual and care for the environment.”
