From January 1, 2012, activities within Volvo Powertrain, Volvo 3P, Volvo Parts, Volvo Technology and Non-Automotive Purchasing are gathered together in the new organizational divisions Volvo Group Trucks Technology and Volvo Group Trucks Operations.

Volvo Powertrain is the Volvo Group Strategic Center for powertrain issues and one of the world's leading engine manufacturers. Our task is to develop and produce components, engines and gearboxes to our customers worldwide.

We have a common goal to achieve world class and take a truly global approach in everything we do.

Volvo Powertrain is one of the world’s biggest manufacturer of heavy-duty diesel engines 9-18 litre. We are also a major manufacture of heavy duty transmissions.

Volvo Powertrain has operations in Sweden, France, Japan and North- and South America.

The Business Unit incorporates powertrain development and manufacturing activities representing approximately 9 000 employees around the world.

At Volvo Powertrain we are actively working to establish groupings that will take maximum advantage of the strength inherent in differences in knowledge, experience, age, gender and nationality, etc.
