Volvo Technology Transfer AB (VTT) is Volvo Group’s Venture Capital entity. VTT’s mission is to contribute to Volvo Group growth by making profitable equity investments pushing the edge of the commercial vehicle industry.

VTT is today a team of nine individuals. Core competencies include financing, law, engineering and business development. Being a small team means that every person has a key role in bringing his or her best to the table. We are committed to making a difference and value entrepreneurial mindset, a ‘can-do’ attitude and strong relationship capabilities.

The company is today shareholder in 25 portfolio companies and 4 venture capital funds. Like any other early stage investor, we enjoy taking an active role in the development of our portfolio companies and one business day is never the same as the next.

We are a company with a history that reaches back to 1983 when Volvo was a member of the European Round Table and Euroventures. In 1994 , AB Volvo was a co-founder of InnovationsKapital and started up Volvo Venture Management in 1996 which became Volvo Technology Transfer in 1997.

VTT has three main tasks:

To bring the Volvo group closer to new technologies or new services by investing in companies and projects of technical and commercial interests.
To support the development of businesses based on Volvo technology with a business potential outside the Volvo Group.
To support the development of entrepreneurship and innovation within the Volvo Group.
