Niklas Gustavsson has been appointed Executive Vice President Public & Environmental Affairs and member of the Volvo Group Executive Team. He will assume his duties on April 1, 2013 and will succeed Jan-Eric Sundgren, who was appointed Senior Expert Adviser to the CEO and senior management.

The number of votes in AB Volvo has changed due to the conversion of a total of 529,000 Series A shares to a total of 529,000 Series B shares. The conversions were implemented with the support of the opportunity for Series A shareholders to request conversion of Series A shares to Series B shares, which was entered in the Articles of Association at the 2011 Annual General Meeting.

AB Volvo’s Annual General Meeting will take place on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 3.00 PM CET at Lisebergshallen in Gothenburg.

Deliveries from the Volvo Group’s truck operations in January 2013 amounted to 10,791 vehicles. This was a decrease of 23% compared with the year-earlier month.

Volvo Buses’ North American subsidiary, Nova Bus, has received an order for 475 hybrid buses from Quebec in Canada. This is the single largest order for hybrid vehicles that the Volvo Group has ever signed to date. The buses are scheduled for delivery beginning of 2014.

The Volvo Group has no plans to acquire the French company Nexter, a manufacturer of products for the defense industry. Information reported in the Swedish media is absolutely untrue.

In the fourth quarter the Volvo Group’s net sales declined to SEK 71.8 billion (86.5) as a result of lower economic activity in many of our markets and a continued uncertainty about the future direction that makes our customers more cautious. However, overall we have maintained our market positions with some regional variations. Operating income declined to SEK 1,121 M (6,955). For the full-year 2012, the Volvo Group’s net sales amounted to SEK 303.6 billion (310.4) with an operating income of SEK 17.6 billion (26.9) and an operating margin of 5.8% (8.7).
