AB Volvo has signed an agreement with the Chinese vehicle manufacturer Dongfeng Motor Group Company Limited (DFG) to acquire 45% of a new subsidiary of DFG, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles (DFCV), which will include the major part of DFG’s medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles business. At completion of the transaction, the Volvo Group will become the world’s largest manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks.

AB Volvo hereby invites the media to a press conference on February 6 2013 in conjunction with the release of the Volvo Group full year report for 2012. The press conference will take place 09:00 at Tändstickspalatset in Stockholm.

The number of votes in AB Volvo has changed due to the conversion of a total of 111,823,202 Series A shares to a total of 111,823,202 Series B shares. The conversions were implemented with the support of the opportunity for Series A shareholders to request conversion of Series A shares to Series B shares, which was entered in the Articles of Association at the 2011 Annual General Meeting.

Total deliveries from the Volvo Group’s truck operations in November 2012 amounted to 19,104 vehicles. This was a decrease of 15% compared with the year-earlier month.

AB Volvo is one of five partners behind a new centre for research into traffic safety in China that was inaugurated today, December 18, in Beijing. The China Sweden Research Centre for Traffic Safety signals closer cooperation between Sweden and China in the field of transportation.
