Welding process Engineer

Main Tasks/ Responsibilities / Authorities:
  • NPD/NPI, ECN: Follow NPD/NPI/ECN process:
    1. Manufacturability analysis
    2. Actively involved in proto building
    3. Layout design according to new product/ECN requirement
    4. Do cost analysis, fabrication process, facilities, jig & fixture design
    5. PFMEA, Control plan, Work instruction set up
    6. Construct routing and manufacturing BOM (VPM, SAP)
    7. Manage pilot production (QDC)
    8. Implement pre-serial machine production
  • Continuous improvement: (SQDCEP)
  1. Remove safety and health risk in welding process
  2. Quality problem solving in production and field feedback
  3. Productivity /cost reduction improvement and follow up
  4. Welder skill training and development
  • New technology development towards smart factory
  • New welding technology development/introduction
  • Smart factory program implementation
  • Yearly business plan / cascading down and follow up
  • As a technical window to Global / VCEK welding engineering team
  • Other work assigned by ME Manager

Required knowledge & experience:
  • Available for 3-D, 2-D CAD knowledge
  • Excellent problem-solving ability in the process of production activities
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good character & high competence
  • Developed analytic ability and trouble shooter
  • Good communication skills
  • Good computer skills (Ms-office)
  • College /university or above, major in welding or mechanical engineering
  • Sound English skills both written and spoken
  • Business oriented person with at least 5 years’ experience in heavy industry
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering or R&D preferred
