Head of Business Control Market SEA

Job Summary
  • A member of the Market SEA Management Team
  • Responsible for FP&A, business control and credit risk management related to the organization’s sales, marketing and industrial activities in Market SEA
  • A key contributor to the development of the Company’s overall strategic vision, tactical strategies and operational objectives by working in close contact with Market SEA Management Team, Head of Finance & Commercial Management Region Asia, finance & credit community within Volvo CE Group

Main Tasks/Responsibilities/Authorities
Business Control
  • Directing and managing finance and reporting activities for Market SEA including actuals, forecases and budgets
  • Working closely with management to develop business strategy, sales and production forecasts, annual budget presentations, and to improve understanding of the financial business drivers
  • Establishing and maintaining best practice in financial reporting, financial analysis and business planning, with an emphasis on providing a quality work product, delivered fast and on time, and with the lowest total cost to the organization
  • Overseeing Market SEA credit management functions including credit policies, collection activities and preservation of company assets
  • Overseeing the financial activities and control functions, ensuring synergistic opportunities are captured wherever possible
  • Developing and recommending plans for expansion/reorganization of programs, operations and sales activities
  • Instituting and maintaining planning and control procedures in compliance with Volvo financial policies and procedures as well as applicable legislation
  • Compliance with Inter-company transfer price methodology
  • Leading the Finance Team, including performance management and staff development
  • Providing “Early Warnings”
A member of the Market SEA Management Team
  • Actively support and understand the business – ‘be in the business’
  • Establish and maintain best practice in financial reporting and financial analysis, and working capital management with the emphasis on providing a product with quality, delivered fast and on time to the stakeholders
  • Insightful, comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty, pro-active, collaborative and consultative

Required knowledge & experience
Education/ Professional Qualifications
  • The successful applicant should possess a degree in Accountancy with at least 7-12 years of working experience in a similar capacity
  • Prior audit experience in a Big 4 CPA firm is a plus for this role
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of relevant finance tools and systems, i.e. SAP/BPC/BI
  • Experience in strategic analysis & planning and execution, performance metrics, project evaluation and commercial acumen
  • Strong influencing, leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Has the experience in managing people and leading a team
  • Working experience in a matrix organization
  • Working experience in a multinational company
  • Have experience working with people and market area in SEA will be an added advantage

This is an individual contributor position. The role is required for occasional business travels. The role is to be based in Singapore and will be on local compensation package.
