What you will be doingAs a
Mechanical Engineering Intern you will work as a simulation engineer on HIL (Hardware in The Loop) and work cross-functionally with other vehicle dynamics teams. We are looking to build our simulation capabilities and integrate our existing simulation models as well as develop new ones. A strong MATLAB skill set as well as basic Python skills will help greatly with your day-to-day tasks. You will have the opportunity to work alongside engineers from various backgrounds who will support you in your role.
Your mission will be:- Develop co-simulation connections using existing simulation models (with opportunities to build own models)
- Combine component level models into system level models
- Assist in validation and verification of system level models
- Support test engineers with development/integration and identify necessary input/output parameters
- Work in MATLAB to build model connectivity and use Python to import the necessary variables to account for product diversity
- Collaborate with senior engineers to identify needs and constraints of models
Who you areYou are a Mechanical Engineering student that is prepared to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment, gaining experience and knowledge in various aspects of engineering (or mechanical, electrical, software, design, production, etc.). As a valued member of the engineering team within GTT, you will have the opportunity to work directly with the engineers in the department. GTT’s values collaboration and life-long learning and our goal is to contribute to your development while providing you an opportunity to work in a business environment within the manufacturing industry. You will report to the group manager for pneumatics installation.
Required:
- Must be enrolled and pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies.
- Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.
- Interns may work up to 40 hours per week during the summer term.
