System and Embedded Software Engineer

Who are we?

The Volvo AB Group Volvo is today one of the world's leading manufacturers of trucks, buses, coaches, construction machinery, marine and industrial engines. It is the world's second largest truck manufacturer.
Within the R&D departments, our team is responsible for the development of software solutions for the bodybuilders of our trucks of the various brands of the group. Our features are particularly valuable for tipper trucks, cranes and other equipment, while being present on most heavy vehicles.

We cover the full spectrum of Embedded software development, from system engineering to verification, specification and coding. We have the ambition to fully understand customer uses in order to develop the right functionality and being innovative.

We are also responsible for leading some cross-organizational developments for the functions for which we are the end-to-end product owner.

What will you be working on as a system and software engineer?

You will be part of the Agile team, made up of highly qualified and versatile software development engineers, and you will contribute to all the development tasks for which the team is responsible. This can be in the field of systems engineering, specification, software coding, verification on SIL and HIL benches. Depending on your profile and the needs of the team, you may be required to carry out complete software coordination tasks.

But when we imagine who you are, we believe you have passion for Engineering, with high collaboration skills in a team spirit mindset. You probably are as well structured and have high delivery focus.

Other key skills for the position:

• MSc in the field of embedded software or embedded systems, or similar experience.
• Experience in the development of on-board automotive software, ideally in the field of trucks.
• Concepts in automotive CAN protocol.
• Experience in C/C++ programming in the Visual Studio environment.

Skills we would appreciate:

• Development tools: GITLab and Jenkins.
• Knowledge of verification and software validation by test bench (Hardware In The Loop)
• Experience in Cyber ​​Security (R155) and Functional Safety (ISO 26262) in automotive is plus.
