Commercial and Credit Data Analyst (m/w/d)

Purpose of the Job
The Commercial and Credit Data Analyst supports both the Credit & Risk, and Commercial departments. This individual is responsible for the delivery of timely and accurate performance information to stakeholders for these departments. This individual is the driver of increasing automation in the credit underwriting process, which is backed up by thorough analysis to ensure safeguarding of Volvo Group assets and the achievement of business financial results. Finally, this individual will be owner of the front-end finance quotation system, drive and support BI activities, and act as the local Data Steward.

Key responsibilities

Credit/Risk:
  • Support the continual development of the Automatic Credit Engine (ACE)
  • Monitors and proposes improvements of credit scorecards and grading models
  • Conduct analysis of portfolio performance and credit assessment data to support further automation of credit decision making and improvement to the credit underwriting process
  • Prepare, analyze and communicate ad-hoc and standard monthly reporting for the Credit & Risk department
Commercial:
  • Support the design, implementation of and monitor and evaluate sales campaigns
  • Coordinate performance improvement initiatives (satisfaction indices, customer surveys, benchmark initiatives, etc.)
  • Prepare, analyze and communicate ad-hoc and standard monthly reporting for the Commercial department
System Owner – VFS Connect:

VFS Connect is the software used by sales personnel for generating quotations, submitting credit assessments, and preparing contracts for end customers
  • Act as primary point of contact for all VFS Connect related queries, initiatives, and activities
  • Plan, coordinate and execute updates and developments in VFS Connect
  • Train users in the use of VFS Connect, and promote best practices
  • Maintain VFS Connect to ensure compliance with internal policies and authorization levels

Business Intelligence (BI):
  • Act as the local “Data Steward” – drive better availability and quality of data for use in VFS and Volvo Group BI related initiatives
  • Contribute to the development of BI related initiatives, including building of PowerBI dashboards, and implementation of new tools/software

Education & Professional Experience
Required:
  • BS/BA in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, business administration, or similar field
Preferred:
  • Experience in commercial finance industry or related field
  • Experience in financial modeling, business analysis, or data analytics
  • Knowledge of SAS, SQL queries, R, Python, or similar programming language
  • Experience with business intelligence applications such as Oracle Essbase, Power BI, Qlikview, and Tableau
Competencies & Skills
Technical:
  • Good understanding of financial products and services
  • Knowledge in credit and risk assessment would be of advantage
  • Proficient with MS Office with advanced knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint
Personal:
  • Highly motivated to learn new things
  • Detail orientated, demonstrating a high level of accuracy in daily work
  • Reliable and persistent – being able to follow challenges through to a solution
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking German and English
