Lytx™ Reaches Milestone with Over 200,000 Subscriptions in Service in 2014

In 2013, Volvo Group subsidiary Volvo Group Venture Capital invested in Lytx (then DriveCam) with the objective of delivering video-based safety solutions for commercial vehicles. Since then Lytx has continued its growth, reaching over 200,000 subscriptions in service in 2014.

The cooperation between Volvo Group and Lytx is based on the fact that both companies work to reduce the number of traffic accidents worldwide. Safety is a Volvo Group core value and for several decades, the Group has studied and analyzed a large number of accidents involving trucks. This information has been, and still is one of the most important bases for the design and development of Volvo Group’s trucks. These investigations have resulted in numerous safety related improvements already in place in today’s trucks.

Complementary to enhancing safety features of the vehicles it produces, the Volvo Group is also focused on the human element in reducing accidents, an area where Lytx is a leader.

Lytx’s DriveCam program prevents collisions and reduces fuel costs by improving the way people drive. Lytx’s solution addresses the causes of poor driving by combining data and video analytics with real-time driver feedback and coaching.

In 2014, Lytx expanded its base of subscriptions in service with 57,000 new subscriptions and the company now has more than 1,300 commercial and government fleet clients worldwide.
