Post Graduate Apprentice Technical Support Engineer

The technical team at Volvo Penta provide support to our customers, dealers and original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) on the complete Volvo Penta Engine range.
You will provide technical information and advice to OEMs, dealers and customers.
Log and follow up all quality complaints and aftermarket cases and provide reports and recommendations. You will liaise with sub-manufacturers and governmental bodies with regards to equipment Volvo Penta sells. You will support Dealers and Dealer Business Management advising on technical training requirements and you will provide training to customer engineering teams and dealers and represent the team at trade shows and conferences as and when required.
Full training on Volvo Penta products, systems and processes will be provided.
You will be based at our Warwick head office (CV34 5YA) however will need to travel in the UK to meet customers and occasionally to head office in Sweden for which travel/vehicle will be provided.

Skills and attributes required:
- Have a degree in Engineering and not currently studying at masters level in an engineering related subject
- Knowledge of modern diesel engines and control systems is preferable
- Focussed on delivering for the customer and becoming a key part of the customers team when needed
- Able to solve problems and use your own initiative
Engineering Competence Level 7 (PgDip) Cranfield University
You will attend training in week long periods across 7 modules then deliver a group project for your final module. The period of study is around 24 months and will be delivered at Cranfield in Milton Keynes or remotely. Successful completion of both the on job elements and off job training, will result in the award of Level 7 in Engineering Competence. This qualification can be used as a part credit towards a Masters and achieving Chartered Engineer Status.
