You start your career in the VOLVO group by this global 12-month Program which offers a mix on-the-job learning, intensive training modules and project work. Overall, you spend 75% on the job at your home site, and 25% in international training modules in Sweden, France, India and USA.

Join us at Powertrain-Engineering at Lyon (Part of Volvo Group) as Powertrain Simulation Engineer for Engine, Exhaust After-Treatment System (EATS) or the Complete Powertrain.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

As Powertrain Simulation Engineer, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Build the right models and run the simulation intended to sizing the components
  • Use simulation tools to evaluate different concepts for our future products
  • Use simulation tools to prepare/optimize the outcome of physical tests
  • Communicate the results of testing and simulation and spread the acquired knowledge in the organization
  • Propose new improvement ideas for our products and tools, and protect them with patent when relevant
  • Work closely with other teammates
  • Promote the methodologies defined by the experts in the Volvo Group
  • Keep track of the stat-of-the-art in the field of Powertrain modeling and simulation

WHO ARE YOU?

You hold an engineering degree, PhD or MSc with good knowledge in simulation, complete Powertrain or catalytic reactions.
Ideally, you have an experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software, 1D & 3D, more particularly GT-Suite.

You are open-minded, action-oriented, perseverant, creative, team player, dynamic and customer oriented.
You are fluent in English.
