Special Vehicles Development is an organization locally represented in all regions, to support and further develop business profitability by offering low volumes solutions as unique selling points for all brands. More specifically, the key principles of the Special Vehicles lean way of working are: close connections to customers, sales and manufacturing, agile development mode, short time to market and reduced development costs.
The Special Vehicles Development Lyon organization is responsible for developing low volume solutions and specific customized offers for Renault Trucks Heavy Duty and multipurpose ranges, Volvo Trucks multipurpose range, as well Penta projects. It also aims to boost innovation through demonstrators and quick market introductions.
The person who will take the position will be integrated in our highly skilled and experienced mechanical development team within Special Vehicles Development in Lyon.
Our work can go from architecture definition to full vehicle or functional scope, validation going through all stages of V cycle development process.
One of the main purposes of the work will be linked to the development of a new battery box.
This work will imply:
- Mechanical functions Pre-studies
- Technicals description writing
- Details design (sheet metal part / wiring / piping)
- Supplier contact
- Validations participation
- Documentation of associated process
Aside of this main mission, several side studies will be possible within our team, from innovation development work to maintenance handling, in order to cover a wide scope of engineering applications. The applications will depend on on-going activities and on candidate profile.
Innovation-mindset, autonomy and motivation are key skills for this position.
Engineering student with major in mechanical profile (DUT or BTS …) starting an “Alternance” cursus.
CAD knowledge is mandatory; CATIA / Creo will be preferred.
Good English level is necessary as we work in an international company
Good team spirit, will to learn and discover many aspects of mechanical truck architecture development, in a quick-paced environment.
