Quality Auditor

Logistics Operations Americas is part of GTO and has approximately 1,000 employees in more than 20 locations within the region. Our job is to design, handle and optimize the supply chain for all Volvo Group brands. The scope for Logistics Services includes making sure material is delivered to the production facilities, packaging is available, vehicles are distributed to the dealers, and that management of material, warehouses and distribution ensures the availability of parts everywhere in the world. We have exciting opportunities for the right individuals at our 1,000,000 SF Central Distribution Center in Byhalia, MS.
The Quality Auditor reports to the Quality & Inventory Supervisor.
Inbound Description/Responsibility
  • Perform system identified quality inspections
  • Perform daily random audits of inbound material to ensure quality specifications are met
  • Compare physical inbound material to drawings / schematics to verify material conforms to all specifications
  • Perform daily audits on product binned and/or put away
  • Inspect dealer returns to ensure that they are properly identified and also conform to all specifications. Provide feedback to outbound on errors
  • Report any deviations to the Supplier Relations Specialist
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management
  • Investigate Non-DC claims from dealers related to received material, prepacking and kitting
  • Investigate nil-picks related with put-away or receiving
  • Cooperate with other audit functions in operation to develop end-to-end process solutions
  • Support Continuous Improvement process for inbound operations
Outbound Description/Responsibility
  • Perform random audits daily on packages on pack stations and staged areas for shipping
  • Research on quality calls from dealers as directed to identify root cause and take the needed steps to correct the deviation
  • Report all deviations to the supervisor or manager in charge
  • Audit random outbound pallets prior to shipment
  • Quarantine any shipments deemed in error until the corrections are made.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
  • Investigate DC claims from dealers related to shipped material, transport damages and transport errors
  • Cooperate with other audit functions in operation to develop end-to-end process solutions
  • Support Continuous Improvement process for inbound operations
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Required minimum 2 years relevant experience in a similar function in a logistics or distribution company
  • Required minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience operating required equipment, such as a stock picker or a forklift
  • Experience working in a production driven environment
  • Experience working in or willingness to learn SAP, DLX, SPM, SPED, LHELP
  • Skilled in analysis, problem solving, trouble shooting
  • Proven experience setting priorities and ability to work independently
  • Good COMMUNICATION skills and ability to work under minimal amount of supervision
  • INITIATIVE & DRIVE: Taking action in the absence of specific instructions or in the absence of a specific requirement, taking reasonable risks to achieve results, and persevering when challenged

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
