Associate Engineer in Powertrain Installation

Chassis Engineering in Greensboro, North America, now has an exciting opening and we are looking for an Associate Engineer to join our department.

Chassis Engineering is a highly skilled team in charge of the chassis development for the North America truck brands in the Volvo Group. We develop components, systems and complete chassis for conventional trucks as well as for electro-mobility and automation.
This position will report to the Group Manager for Powertrain Installation in Chassis Engineering Greensboro.

As Associate Engineer in the Powertrain Installation Group, you are responsible to develop systems, components and deliver solutions for multiple start cost and maintenance projects.
The Powertrain Installation Group is responsible for engine and transmission installation, engine and transmission cooling, over-all chassis heat management, air filtration, engine and transmission oil fill and check. The team works in close cooperation with many different functions and departments.
We are seeking an Associate Lead Engineer that is a team player and enjoys working in a cross-functional environment to develop solutions for truck applications. You thrive in a multi-dimensional environment, enjoy working with people and has a passion for product development. You will:
  • Achieve set goals and all deliveries in terms of features, cost/budget, time & quality
  • Take an active part in the global Sub-System and Component Team (SCT)
  • Support resolution of technical and quality issues
  • Support technical decisions on subsystem/component level with our global and cross-functional network

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably Master Degree
  • Project management experience is a merit
  • Previous leadership experience is a merit
  • Good understanding of heavy duty trucks is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
