Position Title: CNC Machine Operator

Position Summary: Responsible for operating CNC machining centers, loading/unloading of parts, installing thread inserts, and performing quality checks per work instructions. Assist in changeover of machine or cell and in the performance of routine preventative maintenance.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Punctuality and daily attendance.
  • Basic machine maintenance.
  • Assist support groups.
  • Monitor and clean coolant system.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Housekeeping of areas other than immediate work station.
  • Verify quality of parts by using gauges, calipers, etc.
  • Performs other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned by management to support Volvo Penta goals and objectives.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
  • Capable of performing all responsibilities in department.
  • Ability to train other team members.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Minimum of two years machining experience.
  • Capable of reading work instructions and specifications and the ability to follow these instructions.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive bending and lifting.
  • Operator must be capable of processing parts on all department equipment to be considered for PG 4.
