Join us in developing the future of transportation by contributing to the success of Electromobility!
At Volvo Group Trucks Technology, we are currently looking for two Software Engineers, to join the team that handles the area of Charging Systems within Electromobility.
What do we do?
Volvo Group Trucks Technology – Powertrain Engineering is the global, strategic center for powertrain development within the Volvo Group. Electromobility is one of the main development areas within Volvo Group and was created to be in the forefront of environmental friendly transport solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow.
The Charging Systems team is dedicated to provide world class solutions for transferring energy from the grid to the vehicle, delivering end customer value for Volvo business units such as buses, trucks, construction equipment and marine applications. We want you to join us!
What will you do?
When you become part of our team at the Electromobility department, you will get all benefits from a large and international company but also the benefits you will find in a smaller company. By that we mean that you will have close collaboration with colleagues from different parts of the entity, from sales and purchasing to workshops, labs and software development actually located close to you. Combine that with having the total ownership of our solutions that span from idea/concept to industrialization and to aftermarket and maintenance!
We are working in a cross-functional way from system and hardware concept and design to final verification and implementation in production. As in-house SW development responsible for electrical vehicle charging systems and components software (e.g. inverters, converters, charging stations, communication units), you will gather support and take lead of SW design within and outside of Volvo.
Who are we?
We believe teamwork and collaboration is the foundation for great products and an attractive workplace. Therefore we work in an agile way where everyone is part of a sub team of 5-8 colleagues with complementary skills committed to a common purpose. Every team plans their own work and delivers solutions together. We take influences from SAFe and practice Agile methods and have the agile manifesto as guiding principles on how we work.
Electromobility is facing a lot of challenges and the complete Heavy Duty industry is screaming for outstanding solutions within our field. You will have great opportunities in your career when joining our team!
Who are you?
We believe that to be successful in this position you are a team player that loves to develop complex systems in a customer oriented context. You have a broad knowledge and some experience of electrical and/or SW-development. You have experience from the automotive industry, power electronics or embedded software with great attitude, working cross-functional and grow with more responsibility.
We also believe that you have:
  • Master of Science in Mechatronics, Electrical or Physics engineering or equivalent
  • Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written
  • 5+ years in relevant engineering profession
  • At least 3+ year within embedded software or power electronics component development
It is considered a merit if you have experience within one or several of the following:
Automotive, Matlab (Simulink, Targetlink), KOLA, CAD, Python, C/C++ programming, Technical Requirements, Software and/or Requirement configuration tools, Agile Principals and methods.
As your future manager, I truly believe that what makes you thrilled going to work will make you successful. That means I will support you in your personal development and help you follow your professional dreams!
Doesn’t this sound like and amazing opportunity to join us on our electrified journey?
We are looking forward to receive your application!
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or want to know more about this role. I will gladly give you more information about the position and how we can team up and electrify tomorrow!
