If yes, you now have the opportunity to join our department, Systems Engineering, taking responsibility for development of the new electronics needed in Volvo trucks to come. We are responsible for the development of the electrical & electronics architecture and the electrical system design. We targets development of an electrical system that can contribute to new customer features in world class trucks, and you will work with all system aspects when designing the next generation electrical architecture.
Our team of system engineers works cross functional with engineers from many different areas and agile trains. We share our knowledge and draw strength from our individual competences, to reach our common goal of delivering state of the art customer solutions, enabling customer success.
As a Solution Engineer, Principal System Design Engineer, you will join the solution team covering the complete electrical system. You will work closely together with colleagues in an open-minded and creative environment, were you lead the way forward for early estimation of cost, quality, complexity, scalability, evolvability and other system attributes when you with the team designs the next architecture. Your work will include high level analysis and management on system level, as well as proposing enablers for new functionality and defining technical solutions in general, as for example for Ethernet usage or other techniques needed as base in the next platform.
Active safety, autonomus drive and electromobility are areas to cover with the next generation electrical system, that needs to be adaptable, scalable, evolvable, to support changes to come.
Who are you?
We are looking for engineers who are both structured and thorough as well as having an open mind and positive attitude in team work and enjoy working with new complex technologies. You are experienced from leading technical development and are used to make technical recommendations. You have reflected on benefits of good system design and preferably have worked within automotive industries or with electrical system design in other industry branch.
You have an awareness that a system platform must be evolvable to meet the future needs.
Having a customer and business oriented mindset.
- MSc electrical engineering, computer science, mechatronics or similar
- Knowledge of system development of embedded real-time systems, electrical HW development, Ethernet usage or vehicle development
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
