Diagnostic Engineer

We currently have an opening for Diagnostic Engineer within Aftermarket Technology – Diagnostic Engineering team in Lyon, France. Diagnostic Engineers are on the forefront of the Aftermarket group’s projects and participate in early design decisions, recommend and support strategic decisions affecting our products. You will work according to Scaled Agile Framework methodology (SAFe).
Complete Vehicle is the part of Group Trucks Technology assigned to translate customer needs into the most competitive vehicles in the industry with the right feature levels –from vehicle concept development to aftermarket support. Aftermarket Technology is a group function with the mission to provide our customers with the best possible solutions supporting their aftermarket business. Diagnostic Engineering is a group function innovating, developing, maintaining and delivering Diagnostic Service Based Solutions for Volvo products on the aftermarket.
Our diagnostic team today consists of highly competent and engaged colleagues working within team project coordination, requirements, diagnostic methods, tests and calibrations and diagnostic strategies for supporting workshop technicians around the globe.
You will have the responsibility to manage the complete chain from development to verification and validation of diagnostic content.
In this role, you will first assist the team to create virtual test rigs and design models to automate verification and validation of diagnostic content thanks to model based development methodology.
You will also analyze and gather product and project information to design new diagnostic strategies with two main objectives: customer focus and maximize uptime.
We believe that you have an eye for details, are self-sufficient and motivated. You have background and experience in programming. We also believe you have experience in management of technical projects. In addition to this, you are customer oriented and has excellent networking skills. Mandatory Competencies
  • Excellent C# and .NET programming skills , for automation
  • Strong knowledge in UDS ISO 14229, and J1587 , For testing in general
  • Knowledge of CANoe and usage of CANoe as a COM Server and FDX , for automation
  • Strong knowledge in creating and using OTX, ODX and CANDELA files., for automation
  • Hands on experience in CAN Protocol, for testing
  • Automotive system knowledge (ECU, Sensors, Software) and technical mindset, for testing
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills, general
Desirable Skills
  • Hands on experience in Techtool
  • Experience in Autosar development environment
  • Experience in using software tools like CANalyzer, CANoe,
  • Experience in using TFS
  • Experience in working with International /Inter-Cultural teams
