Volvo Penta presents its new 8-liter marine diesel engine to a global public audience for the first time in Sydney

Volvo Penta welcomes customers to its stand at the Sydney International Boat Show as it presents its new 8-liter engine for the marine leisure market to the public, for the first time anywhere in the world.

Visitors to the stand can also learn about Volvo Penta’s cutting edge IPS drives, as well as its latest innovations such as: Joystick Inboard, Battery Management System, e-Key Remote, and the updated Glass Cockpit. And in conjunction with Australia’s premier yacht-builder, the Volvo Penta D8-IPS will be showcased in the new Riviera 4800 Sport Yacht – the first boat in the world to be publicly launched with this latest Volvo Penta IPS drive.

“We are excited to launch our new products and make them available for customers in the Australian and Oceanic region,” says Andrew Nicholson, head of Volvo Penta Oceanic. “The expanded Volvo Penta IPS range is something we are especially proud of and the new Riviera 4800 Sport Yacht is the first in the world to be revealed with the new IPS drive, which is perfectly matched to our new D8 engine. We look forward to the Sydney boat show as it is an ideal setting in which to showcase our new products for the first time.”

The latest products exemplify Volvo Penta’s concept of ‘easy boating’ for the leisure market.

“Our vision of Easy Boating is built on a proven track record of innovation and integration,” says Gavin Rooney, key account manager at Volvo Penta. “We have developed integrated propulsion and control systems for seamless boat management from prop to helm. We will continue to invest in innovation so that Easy Boating becomes the natural choice for life on the water.”

Volvo Penta will be at berth 186 on the marina at the Sydney International Boat Show.
