Johan talks about automation

Johan Tofeldt, technical project leader automated trucks at Volvo Group Trucks Technology, talks about automation, the technology that will affect everyone in the long run, and about his job with automated and connected trucks at the Volvo Group.

The Volvo Group today has over half a million vehicles all over the world that are connected in some way. Johan is among other projects heading up the research project in a Swedish mine. Specially built self-driving Volvo trucks are being tested at the site with the aim of improving safety, increasing production capacity and at the same time reducing fuel consumption.

“Transport that is safer with less environmental impact, cheaper, more effective, I think that’s a good thing for the whole of society”, says Johan.
