New Training Site Opens at Volvo Group North America’s Hagerstown Facility

The Mack Trucks Academy and Volvo Trucks Academy recently opened a new location at Volvo Group North America’s powertrain plant in Hagerstown, Maryland. The new training site, which represents an investment of $750,000, is one of seven Mack and Volvo training facilities in North America.

The training facility primarily will be used to train personnel from Mack and Volvo dealerships, but Hagerstown employee training also will occur.

“We are pleased that the Mack Trucks Academy and Volvo Trucks Academy have selected our Hagerstown site as their newest location,” said Pierre Jenny, vice president of operations at the Volvo Group Hagerstown powertrain facility. “Training is of the utmost importance because it teaches people how to better perform key tasks in their positions.”

Mack and Volvo are committed to developing and delivering a comprehensive training offering that will support the dealer network in meeting their business objectives, with the goal of having a positive impact on profitability and customer satisfaction. This includes professional development in the areas of sales, parts, and service.

The Hagerstown facility will regularly host technicians, parts and service personnel from dealerships across the U.S. Participants will train to become master level technicians, service advisors and parts professionals so they can offer customers reliable and quality service.
