Volvo throws down a new challenge to INSA and emlyon students

For its INVOLVE 2017 innovation challenge, the Volvo Group is bringing INSA engineering school and emlyon business school students on board in its quest for a sustainable future for urban mobility.

Ten teams of 4 students from the two schools plus a Volvo Group employee or lecturer playing the role of "explorer" will finalise an innovative idea with the potential to revolutionise urban mobility on October 24.

Participants will benefit from brainstorming and information sessions to foster inspiration. They will hone their idea following an immersion visit to Volvo’s Renault Trucks plant in Saint-Priest and a creative ideas workshop held on the same day at emlyon business school.

The competitors will submit their concept to a jury on October 26 at INSA premises in Lyon.  The winning team will be invited to present their idea to Volvo Group innovation managers during a 3-day trip to Sweden.

For its fourth French INVOLVE challenge, the Volvo Group once again partnered with Lyon’s prestigious INSA and emlyon schools, both members of its Academic Partner Program (A.P.P.), a select network of higher education and research establishments working in fields aligned with the Volvo Group’s vision and development strategy.

The Volvo Group can count on the contribution of partners in Sweden, France, the US, China, India and Japan to ensure the advancement of its future-oriented R&D programme.
