The Volvo Group Joins Businesses Across North Carolina in Building a Clean Energy Economy

Volvo Group North America is one of many businesses partnering with the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) through a program called SustainableNC.

North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ)

This program supports, encourages and accelerates voluntary strategies and actions for environmental sustainability. They do this through recognizing, inspiring and educating environmental leaders.

SustainableNC partners include businesses and industries, cities and towns, schools and communities, all working to reduce energy costs and embrace environmentally sustainable practices. Businesses like the Volvo Group are seeing wide-ranging benefits in addition to their protection of our environment. These include cost savings, operational efficiency, innovation and competitive advantages, customer satisfaction and employee pride.

DEQ’s mission is to provide “science-based environmental stewardship for the health and prosperity of all North Carolinians.” As part of this mission, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper recently issued Executive Order No. 80, citing North Carolina’s commitment to fighting climate change and building a clean energy economy. SustainableNC is a practical way the state is fulfilling this mission and commitment.
