Main Responsibilities:
  • Modify existing wiring harnesses to implement changes as directed by the wiring engineer
  • Build prototype wiring harnesses or cables according to design provided by the wiring harness engineer
  • Check wiring harnesses for implementation of temporary changes by supplier
  • Organizes and maintains lab equipment, tools and supplies
  • Organizes and maintains inventory of wiring harness components to be used for prototype manufacturing and repairs
  • Supports in troubleshooting wiring problem
  • Authors problem reports for wiring harness defects identified in the wiring lab
  • Design prototype brackets and wiring harness routing and clipping solutions using CAD tools such as CREO/ProE
  • Specific skills and knowledge that will be applied in this position
  • Wiring harness manufacturing or repair experience
  • In depth knowledge of automotive connector suppliers and connector families
  • Experience with wiring harness manufacturing and repair tools
  • Experience with lab inventory control methods
  • Experience with automotive or commercial electrical troubleshooting

Internship Education and Program Requirements:
  • Applicant must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Computational Modeling & Simulation at Bachelor or Masters Level at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the co-op/internship.
  • Fall Interns are required to work 40 hours per week.
  • Prefer to have two semesters for this internship
  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0.
