Maintenance Engineer

The Primary purpose of this position is to develop Maintenance Engineering processes, lead the way of working within Maintenance driving continuous improvement and innovation to ensure the necessary availability and reliability of equipment and machinery,
Key Responsibilities
  • Propose, plan, implement and contribute solutions that allow the repair or maintenance of machines, equipment and industrial installations
  • Develop, refine and review the preventive maintenance plan, establish the criticality of the contemplated equipment, maintenance procedures to determine the periodicity of parts replacement, taking into account the specifications of manufacturers and its lead times, materials, tooling, technical standards and Professional Maintenance concepts (PM)
  • Support the development of Autonomous Maintenance (AM)
  • Develop, refine and edit specifications and technical requirements. Assess compliance of these requirements with the purchase or remodelling machinery and equipment in a manner that ensures the maximum return on investment over the useful life of the production assets in order to obtain adequate availability, efficiency, safety, compliance with legislation and rationalization of costs
  • Establish, maintain and follow procedures for the management of related maintenance documents to processes aiming to ensure the preservation of the history of interventions, the compliance with legal requirements and provide the necessary information for the correct, safe and effective execution of maintenance
  • Specify, elaborate the scope of supply, monitor and evaluate the implementation and delivery of contracting services or purchasing products, as well as dealing with the provisions
  • Propose, lead, evaluate, determine the relationship benefit / cost, validate, document, implement, register and participate of groups of improvement projects using methodology established by the Volvo Production System
  • Use and ensure correct use as well as reliability and integrity of CMMS information in order to improve the processes of management of spare parts registration, asset management, service order management, performance, maintenance planning, cost management, documentation management and safety information applied to maintenance services
  • Interpret and apply technical standards, standards regulations and good practices related to safety in the development of all its activities
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanic, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Relevant extra qualification in Pneumatics, Hydraulics or Electronics would be highly regarded
Business Experience & Attributes
  • Extensive knowledge of asset management frameworks and processes
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical circuit drawings & schematics
  • Good level of Computer skills including Microsoft Office and Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
  • Experience in a Plant Maintenance environment
  • Strong team working skills and ability to work effectively with people at all levels
Salary Range $90k-$110k
