Service Market Logistics (SML) is part of Group Trucks Operations. We are an organization of approximately 3 700 employees globally in more than 40 locations. Every day, we are delivering world class operational excellence for our customers, based on smart logistics solutions. Our job is to develop, manage and optimize the Service Market supply chain for all Volvo Group brands.
We SML Gent EU oversee running European Distribution Centers operations, and we are also in charge of the service market relationship towards our suppliers, and our dealers/market companies. We plan the supply chain from suppliers to dealers in order to secure the best possible spare parts availability to our customers at the right cost. The Manager Material Planning is leading a team of around 10 continental material planners so that they perform at getting the best delivery precision from our service market suppliers.
We are looking for a Manager in Material Planning who will be in Gothenburg, Sweden. The Manager Material Planning reports to the Director Supply Planning & Dealer Inventory Mgmt Europe and is a member of the management team. As the Manager Material Planning you establish and develop a strong cooperation with stakeholders and automotive suppliers. You will secure the performance of our suppliers delivering to DC Gent and DC Lyon for Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks, Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Bus and Volvo Penta. You are customer oriented and dedicated to meet customer expectations and take an end to end approach. You act as an inspiring leader; attract, motivate and develop your team and make sure to have necessary resources to carry out the activities on hand. By motivation and engagement, you drive, set plans and challenge the department to achieve results and targets. You develop an excellent and safe working climate and culture in alignment with the Volvo Group values.
We believe you have a broad knowledge of logistics area and some leadership experience.

You have very good communications skills and influencing capabilities, with the ability to create trustful relations in a cultural and geographical diverse environment.

  • As a person, you have an open and positive attitude, are curious and have a genuine interest in constantly taking care of, coaching and developing your team, and yourself as well as promoting a growth mindset.
  • You are interested and might also have experience in new technologies and since Service Market Logistics is on an exciting digitalization and office automation journey you will play a key role towards change management, competence development and employee engagement.
  • You hold a university degree and / or education in supply chain/logistics area. You are fluent in English, other languages are meriting.
