In Volvo Construction Equipment, you'll work within the Technology Department “Product Platform Compact Excavator”, dedicated to developing and maintaining excavators from 0 to 6t.
The Technology team is organized in an Agile way of working with cross-functional autonomous “scrum” teams. In addition to delivering our products, we continuously improve our products, processes and associated methodologies.
As a Product Quality Engineer for the Compact Excavator Product Platform, you are responsible of the Product maintenance Process: you perform the first level analysis for incoming issues, you define priorities, expectations and collaborate with the appropriate team/Product Owner for the resolution of the quality cases. You support this entity with Product Maintenance process steps knowledge and interface communication.
You compile & analyze Early Field Failures (EFF). As technical back-office, you answer questions from the Technical Support. You analyze warranty costs, failure frequency and (Technical Fault Report) TFR’s leadtime, communicate your analysis and initiate improvements where needed.
You collaborate with a wide range of people: customers, technical support, onsite Q&CS, global quality network, operations, aftermarket and technology. You coordinate the Product Maintenance Team for Compact Excavator 0-6t. You are a member of the Quality Pulse.
You are the entry point with regard to Production issues. You participate to product audit reviews and are accountable for technology related quality cases.
You act as a leader with regard to prioritization and you drive the progress in the resolution of quality cases. You work closely with both Product Owners to provide inputs and criticality level in the agile teams’ backlog.
It is preferred that the Product Quality engineer has:
- Engineering degree (mechanical, hydraulic or electric) or equivalent
- Good knowledge of the machines and of their diversity in all engineering areas: mechanical, hydraulic and electric. System overview.
- Adequate knowledge and skills in Machines Application
- Ability to be a hands-on and proactive person
- Customer and business oriented
- Teamwork oriented, both cross-functional and international
- Holistic view
- Ability to prioritize and work in parallel on several topics
- Overall written and oral communications skills
- English (minimum level B2) - fluent with professional experience in international environment
