Intern: Data Scientist / Engineer (Spring 2022)

Job Summary:
The internship role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a manufacturing environment, and to support/promote the graduate’s career goals through interaction with Data Scientist / Engineering professionals. Interns participate in professional activities for the Volvo New River Valley Plant by working on practical, innovative and important projects. This Internship provides structured learning experiences where interns and our professionals work together on projects within their selected organization. The internship allows student to integrate knowledge and skills in a manner that is mutually beneficial to the student and Volvo New River Valley Plant.
Duration:
  • Assignment will begin January 10,2022 and continue through May 6, 2022.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Develop capabilities to access, analyze and present data collected via the Operational and Information Technology tools in the Cab Factory

Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Business with a focus on data science and analytics at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship
  • Student should have minimum GPA of 3.0
